Jing Haifeng was born in 1957 and graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Peking University. He also received his Master of Philosophy degree from Peking University in 1985. He has been teaching in Shenzhen University since 1985. Currently, he is serving as Dean of the School of Humanities, Director of the Institute of Sinology and Professor at the School of Philosophy. He also was a visiting scholar at Harvard Yen-ching Center during 1997-98, and worked in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong ISCS as a visiting researcher. In addition, he has held positions at the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University, the Institute of Ancient Chinese Studies at Shandong University, and was Director of the International Confucian Association and a member of the Chinese Confucian Foundation’s Academic Committee.
He has presented numerous research papers at international conferences in the US, Korea, Switzerland, Australia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. His areas of research are Confucian Studies, History of Chinese Philosophy, and Neo-Confucian Studies.
