Yan Binggang was born in Shandong in 1960. He is currently Professor and Vice Director of the Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies, Member of the Council and the Academic Committee of the International Confucian Association, and Council Member of the Chinese Philosophy and History Association. Yan is dedicated to teaching and researching Chinese philosophy, especially Confucian philosophy. He has taught and attended academic conferences internationally at locations like Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. His publications include Introduction to Contemporary New Confucianism (Beijing, 1998), and Mozism and the Construction of New Culture (1997). He has also published over 110 papers in various journals including Confucianism Research and Literature, History, and Philosophy. Yan is a creative scholar and focuses on contemporary applications of traditional Chinese culture.
